The area needs a Thai food place...unfortunately this place needs a lot of improvement. I can understand a new place needs time to adjust but I hope they start with reading their yelp reviews! Service even for carryout is beyond slow especially on weekends. Called ahead for an order...took some time getting there yet still had to wait over 45 Extra minutes for the order. There were so many people waiting too. So you think because the wait was long the food would be hot? Wrong!! It was not even warm! Okay So maybe the food is worth the wait? Well it is a hit or miss. We ordered 4 different meals...the beef and spicy grilled pork were NOT good AND the portions were so small!!! The spicy basil chicken and asparagus chicken were a bit better on the portion sized and taste. Still I wouldn't say the food is great..because it is not. I love Thai food and well I was really dissappointed. I do plan to try it again to see if they have figured themselves out yet...

I really really liked the food here. It is very clear though that they underestimated the want for a good Thai restaurant in the area. The staff is overwhelmed and sooooooooo slow. I actually had to come here twice to try it once. I came the day or two after it opened and sat in the entrance way with about 6 other people for a while. Then the hostess/waitress/bartender came out and said that we should come back another day. Because they were too busy and there were tables that were waiting for a long time to get their food already. It was a little ridiculous. I came back another time and had more luck getting food. And the food was awesome. But the wait time was still bad all around. I really hope they hire some more people and get these kinks worked out. I like having a Thai place this close to home that I actually want to eat at.

Love this place. Great pad thai, actually EVERYTHING is delicious. Definitely worth checking out.

The food was good but the service was agonizingly slow. We came in on a Saturday night, they weren't too busy, and we waited 30 minutes to place our food order and didn't get our food for another 45 minutes. Again, the food was good but the service was slow.

Food was outstanding! Do yourself a favor and try the Pad Thai. Less than 10 minuets to get my order and that's not bad considering it's not prepared. All cooked per order and fresh. Cup never below being half filled. And the staff had nothing but smiles. Even the chef came out to greet customers.

When I was told to head to the burbs to celebrate my uncle's birthday, I was dreading my family's choice of restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised with Indra's. The appetizers were really good - especially the "Golden Pouch." It was sort of like Thai nachos. I ordered their special Indra's Noodles which has REAL crab meat. Yum! My mother, as usual, went crazy and ordered an abundance of other dishes to share, including Chicken Pad Thai. It's your average pad thai, good but not extraordinary. Servings are large enough to pass around "family style" so bring your appetite! Some of my cousins were yum-yumming over the Tom Yum soup. One of my cousins who recovering from the flu found it to be a big bowl of warmth, spice, and comfort. I definitely need to try this next time! Apparently, my parents and uncle are regulars there, as evidenced by the personal service they received from the waitstaff. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised as they love to chat it up with just about anyone who will listen! Indra's has good food, friendly service, and is decent option for family outings in suburbia.

We went back there on a Friday night after seeing recent Yelp reviews stating that the service has gotten better. It certainly has! The food is still top notch and they have certainly worked out the service issues. Everything was prompt and the food came out in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place and believe this is the best Thai food you are going to find in the south burbs.

We have been to Indra's multiple times and we loved it every time! The service is friendly, the ambiance is very nice, and the food is amazing! Try their curries! We specially like the yellow curry and the panang curry. We love having this place around!

Update: My husband and I came here again recently on a Friday and the service was much slower than usual. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to ask for our order and we had to get her attention to do it. On top of that, the fork she gave me wasn't clean so I brought it to her attention and I got a new fork. I was thrown off by this because we never had issues coming here but I think they were busier than usual and the waitress seemed new.. She was generous enough to replace my iced my iced coffee to an iced Thai Tea without charging me for the iced coffee. I didn't really like the iced coffee. Too sweet!!! As mentioned in my precious review, their Thai iced tea is the best I've had! Food was good as always. My husband said the green tea ice cream was the best he had too and actually had remnants of tea leaves inside! I would still recommend this pace to anyone wanting to try a new Thai restaurant.

I love this place! It is absolutely delicious. The three favored chicken is awesome and I order when dining in and for take out. I love this place!

Very nice interior...nice attention to detail and very clean. Very nice to have a Thai restaurant in the area that's worth going to regularly. Brought the family and really enjoyed all the items we ordered. Very accommodating with the kids (younger) and very nice service all around. All the standards are good as well as Indra's noodles...great shrimp and nice portion size. We will be back!

The food is very good, the service is laughably bad. I mean it's literally like someone is going to pop out with a hidden camera - it's that bad. I put in a take out order and was told 45 minutes. So, I showed up 45 minutes later and was told it would be a few minutes. i was kind of surprised at the amount of men sitting at the bar by themselves - then it hit me... Uh oh. I was like 6th in line. Well, long story short, I sat there for an hour and a half waiting for my food (so that's 2 hours and 15 minutes all in). In that time I watched 3 entire tables get up and leave. One of them was a couple who had been waiting for 1.5 hours after placing their order. When they inquired about where it was, the waitress told them she'd lost it! LOL! So, if you have 3 or 4 hours to kill I recommend stopping by - and BYOB! On a side note - the food was awesome!

Very nice, clean restaurant. Nice décor with a full bar if you would like to indulge. We had the satay which was very good. Steamed shumai, they were good but no the shrimp ones we are used to getting. Thai Tea very good. The shrimp fried rice was excellent with many shrimps on the plate. My personal favorite if you like coconut like I do was the omelet appetizers. didn't attach pictures as I saw everyone has of the same items we ordered.

Came on a weeknight so very few people here. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Our order came out within 10 minutes. The green curry with shrimp was excellent as was the combination sea food rice. Prices were as expected for this type of food. All in all a good experience. Will be back again

Being a lover of Thai food for a very long time, I was excited at the prospect of a Thai restaurant right across the street from my work place. I I had read some reviews of Indra Thai, and they were very positive about the food. Now the service was another matter, but the food reviews were glowing. Let me contradict most of the previous commenters. Nothing wrong with the service. I ordered pickup for a lunch special of basil chicken, a favorite order of mine when I go Thai. They said 15 minutes. I was there within 20 and my order was ready for me. In fact, it might have been up early, because when I went back to work to eat, it was already lukewarm. Here is where the disagreement with previous posters comes about. The "special" was $8.00 plus tax. It only included rice. Nothing else. I thought the bag it was placed in felt rather light, and after I opened it, I found out why. In a small container was some rice and a smaller portion of my order. When I say small, I mean I almost needed a microscope to see it. If it was an appetizer portion, it would have been lacking, but as the main and only entree, it was embarrassing. Still, I was excited because the food reviews had been good. I guess people in Orland Park aren't used to eating Thai food. The medium spicy basil chicken I ordered had little spice along with little taste, if any. I live right across the street from a Thai restaurant in Chicago where I could have had a dinner portion of the same dish for $9.59. Not only is the portion about ten times more to eat, but the quality is like another world, about the distance from Chicago to Bangkok. Needless to say, I threw my carry-out menu in the garbage after lunch. My only question when eating out is, "Does it taste good?" In this case, the answer is a resounding no!

Since moving out to the burbs from the city, we struggle with finding good Thai food. This place did not disappoint. We really enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and Tom Yum Soup. I had the traditional Pad Thai and my husband had a curry dish. We both really enjoyed our meals. The service was prompt and attentive, but not over the top, which is perfect. The prices were a bit high, but it was still yummy nonetheless. We got a carry-out menu so we can get that sometime, too.

This place appears good...on paper. Menu is ridiculous, like trying to decipher an encyclopedia on hard wood. Service is snail paced, and the food isn't worth the long wait. We were there on a saturday early evening ( 6 ish) and the place was not crowded, but the only order taker spent more time taking phone orders than anything else. Dishes would come out of the kitchen and she would take them right back and they didn't appear again for 10-15 minutes! Take out customers were ignored for long wait times, and clearly frustrated. Save your money and appetite for other places. As another review said, this won't be around in six months.

Unfortunately, we didn't like our food from Indra's. The women in the restaurant are very nice and we wanted to love it and have it be a regular place we could order Thai from. The pad thai had a very odd flavor. It was like a sweet tart sauce, ew. It was very tangy and sweet and not a very nice taste. My kids who love pad thai wouldn't eat it. I ordered the tofu basil. It was very bland. The tofu was cut into very small pieces as was the few veggies that were in in. They were all under the size of a dime. The sauce was very watery. We also ordered a red curry. It was very light in color, a light pink. Not a rich coral-y color we're used to. Again, it wasn't flavorful. I was lacking red curry sauce! It should be renamed "pink curry". This is the first time we have ever not finished our Thai food. Usually, the table is quiet except for "mmmmmmmmm, yum!" until our plates are clean, when we have Thai. This time it was full of disappointing comments and half-eaten plates that were scraped into the garbage. It wasn't the cheapest Thai food we've had either. Bummer :(

The best Thai food place ever!!! Everything is made from scratch by a famous authentic Thai chef!! They use real seafood and it's reasonably priced. Love it sooooo much their icecream, fried bananas, and sticky rice are to die for..

Very good food and nice ambiance. Checked this place out looking for a great Thai place that has bar service---what can I say I work hard. Place is very nice inside clean and modern with a full service bar and TV. Yes in today's day and age I like to be entertained while I dine. Ordered a wide range of food as I love Thai food and have a hard time finding quality places. This place definitely makes the grade. Extensive menu and quality dishes including daily specials. Very authentic and you won't be disappointed. Not 5 stars as it still not as great as my favorite in Lemont. But a place I will go back to. John

This is a great Thai place owned by the nicest Thai couple. The restaurant itself is very clean and nicely decorated with colorful Thai paintings on the wall. All the dishes were very well prepared with huge portions. The dishes were nicely presented, which I think shows the care and thoughtfulness the chefs put into their dishes. We tried the Vegetable Pancakes and Golden Triangle Prawns for appetizers. The pancakes were the perfect texture with crispy edges and a slightly chewy center. The Golden Triangle Prawns were so good and unlike any appetizers I have tried before. A large piece of prawn surrounded by a moist and flavorful chicken filling, all wrapped up and fried to a light crispy perfection! The apricot sauce it comes with was also very good. For main dishes we tried the Spicy Catfish Curry, Pad Thai, and the Pad See Eiw. The curry was so flavorful with just the right amount of spiciness. It included large and moist catfish pieces, an array of vegetables, and a topping of crispy basil leaves which really added to the flavor of the dish. Both noodles dishes were excellent as well with extra huge portions. The Pad Thai was not too sweet and had a perfect combination of the classic Thai flavors. The Pad See Eiw had a very tasty, slightly sweet soy sauce flavor. There was plenty leftover to take home, and all the dishes tasted even better the next day! Also, give the strawberry soda a try! Even before I tasted the drink, just the scent reminded me of intense sweet ripe strawberries This stuff is not made of the colored flavored syrups used by many restaurants. They use real strawberry puree! So good! I will definitely be going back!

Went for the first time with friends of ours who had been before. My husband I arrived early so we could have a drink at the bar. The drinks were fabulous as was the bartender/server. We moved to our table and started off with tempura calamari and vegetables. It came with their homemade teriyaki sauce. Both were excellent! Everyone had something different for dinner. My husband had curry for the first time and loved it. I had the teriyaki filet. It was good but not filet. The service was above and beyond. We were treated as though they had us to their home. So needless to say they have an extensive menu and we will be going back soon.

This place is ok. Ever since I moved away from the city, I live in a land of no Thai food, so I was quite excited when I discovered Indra's not far from my new job. I've been here twice and I've ordered the pad woon sen both times. The food seems inconsistent. I enjoyed my entree the first time I ordered, but the noodles were super rubbery. The second time, the pad woon sen was covered with red pepper flakes. Not so great for those of us with acid reflux. I do like the mugs that hold the tea, and the wait staff is really nice. I think I'll try something new the next time I come in.

Prices were terribly high for the portion sizes...I even asked the waitress if the portions were large....but after I got my order...paad grapow, I realized I asked a 92 lb Thai woman if the portions were large. Some of the fish and seafood dishes looked great and I do not think they were expensive. My dish is $7 at other places...here, $12. Also, my dish did not call for eggplant....but it had gross, mushy eggplant. I picked it out and put it on the rim of my plate. The waitress just shrugged. I regret having tipped % 18.

Good food. Poor service. High prices. Awkward TV above bar. Awkward garbage in plain view around the bar. My prediction: if they retrain the cute girls to be better waitresses, they will thrive. If they remain poor service, this place will be closed by Nov. 2014.

Well decorated, with a warm yellow on the walls. Great Thai table cloths that looked home spun. With only three tables in the restaurant, it was hard to have a negative on the service. We were not a hurry, but I would see that if there were more tables, the server would be overwhelmed. She was gracious and considerate of our needs, but I can imagine that a few more would put her in a scramble. Food was really good though. The restaurant was created with some newer style Thai items in mind. The owner wanted to expand beyond the regular menu items. He has, and so it needs time to prepare. We have all become used to fast food, and the stereotypical Thai and Chinese places with their fake flavors. Great potstickers, good Golden Shrimp, tasty chicken wing, light Tempura for the other in the party. Really looking forward to a return with curry in mind. I think the owner needs to consider the service quality, and the guests in the dining room perhaps consider the experience of slowing it down a little. A little practice on both sides will make this a great place.

Great flavors. Good size portions. Fair prices. Restaurant seems clean, and staff is attentive. Would recommend and we will be back again. Don't forget to ask for the hot sauce platter to add to your dish as needed. Bold flavors!

Don't waste your time here, especially if you're hungry, as the staff has absolutely no conception of what it takes to operate a successful restaurant and don't seem to care that their service is horrible.. My wife and I arrived at 5:15 today and placed our order within 5 minutes. We left an hour later because we never received our meals. The waitress came up to us twice to say that our food would be "right out" but it never came. We also watched while three members of a family of four finished their meals before the 4th person's meal was delivered. I finally asked our server what the problem was and she stated that she had no idea of what the issue was and no idea when our meals would be ready. At that point, we left. If you enjoy and can tolerate incompetence, ridiculously long waiting times, and an uncaring attitude, then this is the place for you. If you're looking for reasonable service from a restaurant don't even consider this place. If you're hungry and in the area, pass this place by and go across the street to McDonald's. You'll be better off. I'll be greatly surprised if this joint is still in business six months from now.

Bottom Line: Very good food, very very small portion. I ate there at noon on opening day. I was the second table. Eventually several more people arrived. I ordered Green Chicken Curry off the lunch menu (medium hot). Waited just a bit long to get my meal, while seeing others wait as well. No problem...Opening Day.. When it finally came I was shocked by the unusally small bowl of green curry. I have never seen such a small serving. I said to the waitress "This is terrible" as it was just the bowl of curry and a single scoop of rice. I pointed to the picture on the carryout menu and asked "Isn't this what it is supposed to look like? She responded "Oh' That's not the lunch portion" NOTHING was served with it. No spices, no spring roll, no nothing. At $8.00 I would expect something more. The taste was Very good, but I had to stop for a snack on the way home. 4 Stars for the food, 1/2 star for the portion, and another 1/2 star for value. I'll try it again and hope they get their act together.

I really liked the food here. We started with the crispy pancake which was good. The sauce with it was delicious. I also got a Thai iced tea, I could drink those all day. For the entree, I ordered the spicy basil beef. It was perfectly executed with just the right amount I heat. My wife got the beef salad, it was very good. Nice brightness from the herbs with very tender beef. The service was passable, I would like to see the wait staff be a bit more aware. The decor was nice as well. For me, as long as it is not dirty and the staff is passable, it is all about the food and this was, by far, the best Thai food I have had in the suburbs.

This is a new restaurant . With all due respect to the service complaints, the staff is more than acknowledging of the fact that they were overwhelmed for awhile when they opened. I think that problem has been remedied. I am very happy we now have a Thai restaurant in the area which is very good. In the past, we had to drive into Chicago to get good Thai. Granted it may be cheaper for the lunch specials and the portions may be larger elsewhere, but, the portions here are more than adequate to satisfy a normal appetite. The menu has many options, the food is fresh and tasty, and the prices are fair . I highly recommend trying trying this restaurant.

Here is what you need to know... The service is fine, this is not supposed to be arush. I did not experience any issues with the wait staff. In fact, I found them to be very informative and I believe they went out of their way to be very nice. I found the food to be good as well. I would give it 5 stars if the food was...weird to say buy more spicy. I feel they spice it down to appeal to more people. As mentioned below it is important to request the spices. The dry spice is awesome! You only need a little. Bottom line... 2 dinners and a bottle of wine = $50. Pretty good for a place of this quality and a good value in Orland. I will be back and recommend it.

Delicious Thai Restaurant in the South Suburbs. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and thought it was excellent. I'd highly recommend the crispy pancake appetizer and the Indra's Noodle (both signature dishes). The indra noodle came with shrimp and real crab meat - no Krab nonsense, and was reasonably priced. My only complaint was the service which was a bit slow, but I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Thai food.

I've been here twice now, once before reading the reviews and once after. My first experience, at lunch time, was very pleasant. The service was fine, and the four of us all enjoyed our food. When I later read the reviews, I was worried about dinner, but ended up determined to post my first review here, because my experience was just the opposite of bad service. Our waitress was very pleasant, and everything arrived just when it should. My friends and I all liked our food, although the desserts were not that exciting--coconut ice cream was disappointing, and the custard was strange. I'm definitely going again.

Horrible Horrible service!!! We ordered our food within 10 minutes of being seated at our table. We left an hour & forty five minutes later without getting our food!! Not one person apologized or offered us anything to compensate for our inconvenience. What a waste of our Friday night out...you blew it Indra's!! Close up shop now & let a real restaurant move in!!

I am very fond of Thai food and this restaurant did not disappoint! Actually, I would say the taste was the very best of all Thai restaurants that I frequent. We were there for lunch and enjoyed appetizers, soup, and entree. EVERYTHING was delicious. Food does take quite awhile to arrive, but is worth the wait! We will definitely return.

I can't say how happy and appreciative I am that some bomb-diggity thai food has finally found their way into the Orland Park area. I used to love Bua Thai a lot that used to be on Harlem near 159th as that was authentic and delicious. Thai Smile has been unpredictable, with some good days and some bad. Jewel of Siam is pretty good but the dining room is tiny and without double doors, is a freezing experience to eat there in the winter. That was a few years ago though. Indra's is awesome. The decor is very tastefully done and this is a family run restaurant. It sounds like they had a few rough weeks at the beginning but all is smoothed out now and they are a well-oiled machine. Their food is very carefully and thoroughly cooked, you can tell that the chefs care about each dish that they put in front of you, both in appearance and taste. Their Indra signature dish is amazing--they use a special spinach noodle that is so tasty. I've had their spring rolls which are delicious. The pad kee mao, garlic fried rice, and spicy basil were all excellent. One of my favorites are the custard dishes--OMG. So delicious and reminds me of the homemade desserts my family makes in India. I've had their mung bean custard, rice custard and yucca custard and I can't explain how delicious and unique they are. The service is very friendly and helpful. The chef frequently comes out to hang out to say hi to the diners and smile. When I inquired about gluten free noodles the waitress took the time to give me some options as to what I could order with the noodles that are GF which I really appreciated. They were able to make the signature dish with the GF noodles but unfortunately the crab tasted a little weird on the dish so I scooted those aside and proceeded to eat the rest. When the waitress came back to pick up the dish she was alarmed that I left the crab and I explained why. She rushed back to the kitchen to inform them of why I didn't eat the crab and they took 50% off the bill, no questions asked. That was really nice of them to do, without me even asking! Love this family-owned restaurant...it is one of those places that you'll want to keep coming back to, to try everything on their menu at least once.

I visited this place when it first opened in 2013. It was painfully slow then. I think they had no idea people would actually show up. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Service has gotten much better . Now things are running smooth, friendly service and the food is great. Probably the best Thai food around the southwest suburbs. We are regulars. Love their Emerald Curry!! My fav.

On a Sunday afternoon we decided to go to Indras Thai and it did not disappoint. We started the meal off with a crab ragoon appetizer and it was so delicious. It wasn't greasy or over filled, these are the best crag ragoons I have ever had. We decided to split two dinners a pad Thai with beef and a Thai fried rice with chicken.... And the portions are huge. I'm not sure about other reviews but I found the food to be filling and yes we had left over doggie bags. The prices are moderate for Thai but I found the seafood options to be a bit pricey. The pad Thai was my favorite the noodles were flavorful and the sprouts were really fresh. The Thai fried rice was good but not spectacular. I would have preferred larger pieces of chicken. The staff was friendly and polite. It was such a delight to see a great Thai restraurant in Orland Park. And yes people they have amazing lunch specials.
